This is a garden where nature has been allowed to reclaim some space. An old romantic folly, native planting, dry stone walls, waterfalls and streams all integrate and harmonise with each other to create an oasis for the British native plants and wildlife.
Nature takes over in and around the old forgotten folly creating a natural habitat for wildlife, our native wildflower and their cultivars. In contrast the old cottage garden shows how you can combine the hybrid plants we all love in our gardens with some native wild flower and their cultivars.
We will plant the garden to encourage the wildlife and allow nature to attract and sustain wildlife naturally, giving it space to live and breathe
We are inspired by the constant beauty of nature, to create a home for our precious wildlife and native flowers, a natural biodiversity.
We have also involved our local primary school to help us grow and create this natural environment whilst supporting them in creating their own conservation and wildlife area.
By involving the children they are learning, as well as having a better understanding, of how important these areas are to the environment and they are having great fun in the process! They are all so excited to be involved in the show.
We also hope to relocate some of the plants from the show to our local primary school for their conservation and wildlife area where the children are learning, with enthusiasm, how important it is to protect our natural world.
We are delighted to be asked by Country Living Magazine to return this year to create for the second year a feature garden for their spring fair in March and pleased to announce we will be working in partnership with Kadai firebowls, Rolawn, Redwood Stone, Harrod Horticulture and The Posh Shed Company to bring the garden to the show.
The garden will be full of the delights and promises that spring brings with an extravaganza of colour emerging from the ground as the bulbs push their way through the soil with narcissi, tulips, fritillaria and many other joys of spring bursting into life. There will be a pond to encourage the wildlife to the garden, a wildflower meadow, a potting shed and a place for your herbs and vegetables together with a garden of spring flowers some of which can be used for cutting and used to bring the scent of spring into your home. The plans are still in the making and changing all the time but the bulbs are planted and already showing signs of promise ready for the show.
We hope the garden will give plenty of ideas and inspiration to take home whether you want a quite spot to sit and relax in your garden, to watch the wildlife busy feeding and making homes, the birds singing and the butterflies dancing between the flowers or simply to potter about in your greenhouse or potting shed and grow your own herbs and vegetables. There can be spot for everything in the spring garden and there is certainly a lot to do to prepare for the coming summer months.
We do not often have the opportunity to create a show garden at this time of year and it is one of my favourite times in the garden, watching the bulbs and plants emerging from the ground to give the garden colour and vibrancy is magical, the wildlife is busy bustling about and there is such a promise of beauty to come.

We were delighted to be asked by Country Living Magazine to create a feature garden for their spring fair in March 2013, it was great fun and we hope you all enjoyed a little bit of spring even if it was snowing outside!!
The garden was full of the delights and promises that spring brings with an extravaganza of colour emerging from the ground as the bulbs pushed their way through the soil with narcissi, tulips, fritillaria and many other joys of spring bursting into life.
We were very proud to work in partnership with Foras at the Chelsea Flower Show 2012. We loved bringing their beautiful natural products into a garden environment in which the plants and stone worked naturally together to enhance each other. We were over joyed to win a Gold Medal for the Sculpture Garden, something we will always be very proud of.
We have worked with Foras at the shows in the past, using some of their products in a garden we created at Garden Scotland, in 2011 and were delighted to be awarded a Gold medal and 'Best in Floral Marquee' The garden was sponsored by Poppyscotland to kick-start its celebrations of 90 years of the Scottish Poppy Appeal.
Foras are a family-run company, based in Norfolk, They focus on designing desirable natural stone and slate products with practicality, affordability and functionality in mind, and that work in any size, shape or style of garden. Ethics are important to them and they travel the world to personally source and select the best stones available to ensure they are always innovative.
They are passionate about gardens and plants and believe objects or materials placed in any garden, large or small, should complement and enhance the space. We will continue to work with them for 2013 and we hope for years to come
